Make Do and Mend: Invisible Mending

Join us in the Norwegian Wood sewing studio for an evening of bringing old clothing back to life

Techniques taught

- Mending small holes with fusible interfacing and reinforce with zig zag stitch

- Seam repairs using invisible stitch (also known as a ladder stitch)

- Learn to sew a button onto a garment

Included Materials

- thread, needle, fusible webbing, buttons, scrap fabrics

- Wine and snacks provided!

Katie Miles holds a Bachelor of Fine Arts, with a focus on Painting and Fibers. Over the years she's spent time working within the fields of graphic design, Fine Art curation, fashion design and costume design. Angie Johnson (owner of hosting studio Norwegian Wood) holds a Bachelor of Human Ecology, with a focus on Clothing & Textiles. She started Norwegian Wood in 2007, and before that worked in the mainstream fashion industry.
